The Young Hearts Club

Connecting our school to the community

The Young Hearts Club was officially established at WT Woodson High School in 2009. Members of the club participate in the annual DC Light The Night Walk for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Each year, students select other causes to support, as well.

Along with fund raising, The Young Hearts Club provides emotional and moral support to students who are dealing with loss or are dealing with significant medical issues of their own or those of a family member.

Over the years, The Young Hearts Club has put on theatrical productions, battles of the bands, a mystery dinner, bake sales, rummage sales, sports events fund raisers, and restaurant nights to raise funds and awareness for blood cancer, breast cancer, eating disorders, Friedreich's ataxia, MS, and ALS.
