The Young Hearts have partnered with INOVA to host a blood drive that will take place in the parking lot of the Mantua Swim & Tennis Club. Thank you to the coordinators of this blood drive, Rachel Birns and Lydia Falardeau!
Especially during the troubling times of COVID-19, the need for blood donors is even greater than usual. Donating blood can make a big difference and positively impact the lives of those in need. Lydia Falardeau, a two-time blood donor, states she donated,
"just for the greater good. I saw other kids doing it, so I wanted to do it too."
Those interested in donating blood must be at least 110 pounds and at least 16 years old.
If you are at least 16, but under 17 years of age, you MUST complete and bring the signed parental consent form when you arrive for your donation appointment.
The INOVA bloodmobile will also be following social distancing practices by allowing up to 2 donors at a time to donate simultaneously.
Register here for your preferred time slot between 8 am and 1 pm.
If you've successfully registered, congrats! If you're a first time donor, here is a checklist from the INOVA website that guides you through the steps of what to do before, day of, and after the day you donate.
Above, we've given you all the tools you need to successfully register and donate blood to the INOVA blood drive! The Young Hearts hope to see you all there on August 30!
